The Conservatoire du Nord is delighted to announce the arrival of an exceptional new instrument for its harpsichord and basso continuo class. The result of extensive research and a passionate quest, this harpsichord enriches our musical and educational heritage.
Built by renowned English instrument maker Andrew Garlick (https://www.andrewgarlickharpsichords.co.uk/), a specialist in crafting harpsichords inspired by historical models, this instrument has already accompanied a Dutch performer for many years. Its refined sound and remarkable aesthetics are testament to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Our new treasure is a faithful copy of a French double-manual harpsichord based on Goujon (1749), offering a rich and nuanced sound palette, ideal for performing the Baroque repertoire.
With this acquisition, the early music department of the Conservatoire du Nord is delighted to be able to bring new artistic and educational projects to life and offer students and audiences an even more authentic and inspiring musical experience.
